The People

We're not just the founders of LaZaman - we're the people behind the noise. Think of us as witnesses, curators, and storytellers with one job: to make sure artists' voices don't fade away, and to keep the filfil burning!

With the founders Abdullah & Sandy in different locations, it wasn't easy. We had meetings across different time zones, with internet that barely worked, power cuts in the middle of calls, and more "can you hear me now?' that we'd like to admit!
But you know what? We made it!
Allow us to introduce the founders..

Abdullah Abu Zaher - Founder

Abdullah is 23, a Palestinian living in Gaza, full of life, full of energy, and a direct witness to the bitter realities of war. He and his people have been deprived of their past, their present, and even the hope of a future. Yet from this loss, Abdullah saw something powerful: Gazans chose life. They chose to create!

LaZaman was born from his vision — to show the world the brilliance of Gaza’s people, to prove that even when entire eras are stolen from them - their past, present and future - their creativity endures… and the human remains.

Abdullah is the vision, the spark, and the creative soul of LaZaman. He's also the one powering through blackouts, bad internet, sounds of bombs, and meetings where half the time he's saying "Alooo.. can you hear me?" But somehow, he keeps the smile, keeps the vision.. he keeps the fire on!

Sandy Lulu - Co-Founder

Sandy is a Gazan Palestinian living in Canada. She bridges the distance between Gaza and the world, carrying the spirit of home across borders. She makes sure Abdullah's vision becomes action, and the stories move from idea to impact.

For Sandy, this isn’t just logistics. It’s her way of keeping Gaza alive wherever she stands.

And yes, she's also the one who fixes the chaos, grounds the ideas, and somehow convinces Abdullah to slow down and write down his thoughts!

Together, we built LaZaman as a canvas for those who refuse to disappear. It's serious work - but if Gaza can still create color and rhythm in the middle of chaos, we can laugh at the mess while carrying it forward. Beause at the end of the day, LaZaman isn't about us. It's about showing the world the Gaza spirit.
